CCM Meeting a Foundation's Geographic Mission
June 18, 2010By Lisa Hagerman, Friday June 18th
Many More for Mission members engage in geographically-targeted, mission-related investing. Several of these foundations, including the F.B. Heron Foundation, the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Seattle Foundation, Meyer Memorial Trust and General Service Foundation work with Community Capital Management, Inc. (CCM) to assist with this approach. CCM actively manages mission-related, fixed income investment portfolios which are designed to provide investors with competitive returns and to make a positive community impact. One of the benefits of CCM’s mission-related investment approach is the ability to customize a market-rate, fixed income portfolio that can be geographically targeted or support specific mission-related initiatives. This can be done in either a separate account or mutual fund investment vehicle. The geographic target is determined by the client, and may be customized to a county level. Clients receive social reporting illustrating how the investment benefits local community development needs.
