    The KL Felicitas Foundation, a More for Mission Leaders Circle Member and a leader in the field, is an investor in Beartooth Capital which generates competitive returns through the acquisition, restoration, protection and resale of important ranchland in the West.  Beartooth Capital provides mission driven investors an opportunity to invest in significant land conservation while generating community benefits like preserving local agricultural production and creating jobs associated with restoration and land management.  An example includes an investment that impacted the recovery of salmon and steelhead in Central Idaho and the substantial economic benefits communities enjoy from the many fishermen in the area.

    Far from being a drag on returns, Beartooth’s conservation mission serves as a competitive advantage at the core of a disciplined value investment strategy.  Beartooth and its conservation partners have restored 50 miles of river and creek and protected more than 10,000 acres to date while generating liquidity events throughout the downturn from conservation transactions and land sales. As of March 2010 the firm had returned 23% of investor capital while retaining 95% of total acreage acquired.
