Northwest Area Foundation Champions Invest Northwest

As the lead investor in 2004, the Northwest Area Foundation championed Invest Northwest, LP's formation which led to additional Limited Partner investments from Wells Fargo Community Development Corporation, Annie E. Casey Foundation, RAIN Source Capital, Inc. and the GP, InvestAmerica Investment Advisors. The goals of this $15 million fund include risk and mission adjusted returns and retaining and creating higher paying jobs with supportive health and wealth creation benefits. Invest Northwest's moderate risk investment profile targets growth and later stage small manufacturing and service businesses often in underserved markets.
With $9,674,000 invested by Invest Northwest and $85,000,000 invested by other co-investing funds, INW's seventeen portfolio companies in growth and later stage manufacturing, service, distribution and technology businesses, have supported job growth, higher wages and better benefits than those in comparable businesses and geographies. 8.4% of the invested capital has been returned to date. Building on this success, InvestAmerica intends to establish similar funds.
