It is very common for job interviews to distress us for the simple fact of being evaluated and there are key questions that can take us to the next round or leave us out of the process.
The good news is that the questions address a topic you know better than anyone: yourself.
Beyond asking about your work experience, your knowledge and your academic preparation, the interview is focused on knowing your personality, how you will face the challenges at work, how you relate to people and how you handle the pressure, depending on the position. Prepare to respond intelligently to these common questions:
- Tell me about you
It seems an innocent question to break the ice, however, has a goal well thought out by the recruiter: know what you have to offer, as an employee, to the company. Do not interest your personal life, if you have two children, if you are divorced or if you love animals, concentrate on talking about your ‘professional self’. Prepare in advance to give concrete examples of your professional life.
- Why should we hire you and no other candidates?
Leave the insecurity aside and go. This is the time to speak well of yourself, highlight your skills, qualities and experience. Example: “The experience that I have acquired in X area allows me to have the necessary skills to reach and exceed their expectations of the position”.
